My Story

When I gave birth to my second daughter, I knew I could not go back to my demanding full- time job as a corporate manager. For me, being able to raise my daughters and be part of their childhood constituted a quality and meaningful life. However, by the time my third daughter was starting pre-school, I began to feel that I needed something more than just catering to the needs of the girls and the family. I could sense my professional self-confidence and financial independence fading.

Luckily, I had kept up a part-time job as a financial advisor and business consultant throughout the child-rearing years. It was now time to put more energy and effort into building a business that would help me generate some additional income while not compromising the control over my time. I wanted to do something that I could enjoy doing, that would feel meaningful, and that could help others. Could something so basic really be so difficult to come up with?

I started with blogging, seeing it as way of integrating more creativity and self-expression into my life and, at the same time, creating another source of income. But soon enough, I felt the burden of every new blogger, as I tried to keep all the balls in the air: writing content, posting on social media, engaging, commenting, and trying to pick up every last detail about blogging…and all this just to try and find the simple formula of how to make a living doing something that you love while maintaining control over your schedule.

Focused as I was on just bringing traffic, monetization was not even something I thought about! And that’s how VENNDY was born, out of my attempts to facilitate my own journey and, at the same time, maybe have the chance to encourage others to find their own working formula to:

• Share, in a shop-like format, the experiences and knowledge they accumulate as they become bloggers, mothers, or savvy and passionate mavens in their field.
